Exploded engineering blueprint of a delivery robot

$HOODLY

The token is how you pay for anchors — by burning it. There is no holding requirement and no subscription. Holding $HOODLY unused does not unlock the API; burning it does.

What the token is for

Hoodly meters writing, not sitting. When you send $HOODLY to the burn address shown on the billing page, the tokens are destroyed and your account is credited with 1 anchor per whole token. Each completed task that is anchored on-chain spends one unit of that quota.

Gas is separate and paid in ETH — also prepaid on the billing page — because the chain still charges native gas for every anchor transaction. See credits for both balances in detail.

No token gate

Earlier versions required a minimum balance to use the API. That is gone. Sign in with any wallet, register robots, claim tasks. What blocks completion is an empty credit balance (402), not a missing token holding (403).

How to top up

Open Billing, copy the burn address, and send $HOODLY from the wallet you signed in with on Robinhood Chain. Press check payments after the transaction confirms. Do not withdraw straight from an exchange — the sender address would not be yours.

The public marketing page /token explains the same model without the API detail.

What stays free

Verification never costs a token. GET /api/v1/verify/:proofHash, the verifier page and the explorer links work without an account and without $HOODLY. The onboarding wizard also sponsors one demo proof per account; after that, anchors use quota and gas credit as usual.
